The Edge of Vision

Have you ever experienced light sensitivity, blurred or double vision, repetitive and uncontrolled eye movement, headache, eye fatigue and dizziness, difficulty maintaining focus at near?

Do you encounter challenges in recognition of letters or the text becomes unsteady while reading?

Do you find recognition of landmarks and orientation in space challenging, and objects in movement like cars on the street make you dizzy?

This is called OCULOMOTOR DYSFUNCTION and VISUAL PROCESSING DISORDER.

What is Oculomotor Dysfunction and how is linked to Visual Processing Disorder?

Oculomotor dysfunction results from a lack of controlled, voluntary and purposeful eye movement associated with congenital developmental delay, neuro-degenerative condition, traumatic brain injury, stemming from physical disabilities or other neurological conditions such as stroke or diseases/dysfunctions that affect the brain's ability to coordinate and control the eye's movement.

Consequently, this condition impairs the proper capture of visual information by your eyes, leading to poor and distorted information input and generating the brain's dysfunction to process visual information accurately.

Usually the individual are most often unaware of changes to functional vision especially if the vision conditions are slowly progressing and the visual system and the brain start gradually to adapt to these conditions. Therefore, any symptoms such as blurred vision, double vision, eye strain, visual fatigue, headache, dizziness, balance difficulties, orientation problems, reading, driving, computer use difficulties should be checked as soon as possible by a specialist.

Why is important the functional vision assessment and visual rehabilitation?

Multisensory integration resulting from various information captured by our senses - vision, hearing, tactile, kinesthesia, smell, taste, etc.- and processed in the brain is fundamental to our connection with the outside world.

Vision is one of the essential senses that plays a vital role in the execution of visually related tasks such as maintaining the body posture and balance, motor control, mobility and orientation in space, recognition of objects and people, reading and writing, emotional control, eye contact and communication with others, etc.

Therefore, early detection of functional vision problems prevents the deterioration of the visual system. It diminishes the impact on the execution of daily life activities such as reading, sports, driving, and doing professional activities.

How can Vision2Brain support you in overcoming these challenges?

Vision2Brain offers three categories of sensory stimulation and rehabilitation packages tailored to your individual needs:
