What makes my approach different

My approach brings together professional experience, scientific knowledge and an individual understanding of how each person uses vision in everyday life.

Vision as a Whole

My background in medical sciences, psychology and optometry helps me look at vision as more than eyesight alone, considering how vision works together with other abilities during everyday activities.

Research-Informed Practice

My work draws on doctoral research, more than 25 years of professional experience and continuing education in functional vision, CVI, visual processing, visual skills training and brain-related visual difficulties.

Experience Across the Lifespan

I have worked with children, young people and adults with visual impairment, CVI, developmental and complex visual needs, as well as adults experiencing visual difficulties following acquired brain injury.

Everyday Life as the Reference Point

Assessment and training are connected to what matters to each person in everyday life — at home, at school, at work and in the community.

A Broader Professional Perspective

My experience extends beyond working directly with clients to research, university teaching, professional education and service development in different countries.

An Individual and Collaborative Approach

There is no standard programme that fits everyone. Assessment findings, individual needs and personal goals guide the process. I work together with each person so they can understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and how it connects to everyday life.
